2022 Summer Design & Marketing Internship

 

Columbus Printed Arts Center is looking for a creative, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Design & Marketing Intern to join our team this summer. The ideal candidates believe that the arts are a vital component of a thriving community, are invested in contributing to the organization’s growth, and have unique ideas to bring to the position. 

The Design & Marketing Intern will provide administrative support by assisting in many aspects of Columbus Printed Arts Centers’ studio, working collaboratively with the Director and Studio & Outreach Coordinator, as well as other Interns and Fellows. The D&M Intern will gain an understanding of how an arts organization functions as they develop skills and strategies that creatively engage the needs of the organization, CPAC members, and the arts community at large. 

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to: designing and executing promotional and informational materials, managing social media accounts, web design, market research, developing audience surveys and marketing strategies, and copy editing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Arts Administration, Art Education, Community Outreach, or relevant field.

• Strong interest in visual art and a passion for contributing to the growth of a new arts organization.

• Strong design background; skillful in Adobe Creative Suite programs Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere

• Demonstrated ability to generate creative, high-quality, and well-communicated social media campaigns 

• Desire to learn new skills and grow as an individual through accomplishing challenging tasks.

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills; professional approach to external and interpersonal relationships.

• Attention to detail; extremely organized, dependable; willingness to take agency over project components

• Enthusiastic and self-motivating with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively; strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking

• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, deals well with multi-tasking

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience creating promotional campaigns, websites, or print projects for an artist studio, community gallery, museum, art organization, or alternative space

• Strong understanding of current organizational strategies and willingness to seek new approaches

• Demonstrable interest in printed media and knowledge of artists working in the field

Position: 1 unpaid position, available for college credit if needed. Interns have free and unlimited access to Columbus Printed Arts Center’s studios for the duration of the internship program and receive discounts on services, materials and classes.

Dates:  

Hours: A minimum of 10 hours per week preferred. Weekend hours may be required. Possibility for remote work.

Duration: 4 months minimum

Interns must have reliable transportation including the use of public transportation.
